Projects I'd like help with:

A Road Traffic Accident Reports website, mentioning the locations with street names, makes and models of vehicles, fatalities, times and dates, and detail of how the accident happened. People would find the site when searching for details of a particular vehicle or location. If anyone can help get this project off the ground.... data could be obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. Research on "Outdoor advertising and road safety. Using a computer simulation of a stretch of road that already has outdoor advertising, remove the advertising, introduce hazards set at a level to produce a significant number of accidents for a group of test subjects. Cover day and night. Then add the road side advertising (using actual adverts, some illuminated at night) and run the test with second group of people. Compare the accident rates."

More on the same theme. Not really a project, well, I'm not sure Pelican crossings are a good idea. People look at the 'green man' and start walking out into the road without looking for traffic. I suspect Zebra Crossings are better as there's a visual negotiation between the pedestrian and driver. I was wondering about an animated 'green man' who's bit twitchy: the animation has him look left & right, put a foot out and pull it back, start walking across but looking left and right as he walks.
